GoPro Launches Odyssey 360° 3D Recording Device
In line with the recent spike in trend for virtual reality shooting and experiences, GoPro is now offering their own virtual reality offering with the availability of Odyssey, the 3D, 360° 16-camera rig designed for Google’s virtual reality platform, Jump, through the Odyssey Limited Access Program (LAP).
The Odyssey offers Professional Content Creators the opportunity to capture stereoscopic content while providing added features including genlock synchronisation, multi-camera control and extended battery life. The end result is 3D, 360° VR content that allows users the ability to experience a time and place like they are actually there!
Interested in buying the Odyssey? Well then wait in line! Only limited versions of the Odyssey will be sold through GoPro's Odyssey Limited Access Program (LAP), which requires you to sign up via their website at GoPro.com/Odyssey. Only selected content partners will be able to purchase the limited-quantity Odyssey rig and showcase the full potential of 360° content.
Odyssey will be offered at $15,000USD (~RM65000), which includes:
- 16 HERO4 Black cameras, fully loaded with custom firmware
- 16 array bacpacs with syncing cables
- Custom-built ultra-rugged Pelican case
- Microphone
- Warranty
- Support
